What is Baby Yoga?

Baby yoga is a fun and interactive experience for both you and your baby. Baby yoga includes stretches and poses for baby, yoga inspired poses for mum to practice with her baby, warm up and breathing techniques for mum, basic Shantala Massage for baby (see below). We include nursery rhymes for language development. In a Baby Yoga class babies sense of balance and body awareness are stimulated through yoga inspired poses and movements.

  • Mum n Baby yoga includes stretch and strength work for mothers to encourage the body to heal after pregnancy and boost wellbeing. Learn postures and exercises you can do with your baby.

  • A baby yoga class will provide mother with some breathing and relaxation techniques to use at home.

  • Baby yoga can help relive colic through a variety of stretches.

What is baby massage?

This class will introduce you to a basic Shantala Baby Massage sequence. This is an ancient form or baby massage that has come from India. It is a special, nurturing experience for both you and your baby. Shantala Baby Massage offers a unique way for you to both bond and connect through positive touch. Learning Shantala Baby Massage is a skill for life. It gives you tools and techniques to use at home anytime of the day or night. It also allows you to really tune into your baby and completely give them all your love and attention. This is a dry massage through clothing but if you prefer to use oil please bring along your own blend.

What can you expect at your Mum & Baby Massage & Yoga class?

  • Classes are baby led and relaxed: if baby needs a cuddle or feed this is absolutely fine!

  • Meet local parents in a supportive nurturing environment.

  • Learn skills for life and techniques and poses you can do at home with your baby.

Baby massage & baby yoga classes provide an opportunity for you to create precious one on one time with your baby. Creating special memories for you both learning movements you can practice at home when all your babies needs are met, it’s also a great intro to our up and coming series starting in 2022.

Please byo baby towel and baby carrier you may have if you wish to use this in standing yoga movements. Places are limited to small numbers so you get lots of attention. Mother’s and babies must have had their 6 weeks check to participate. Those that have completed the intro class can then sign up to Term 1 - Starting 2.2.22 - 30.2.21 for $135.
